NEWLY REVEALED ORGANIZATION, THE JOHN MCAFEE FOUNDATION, AIMS TO RETRIEVE THE LATE CYBERSECURITY PIONEER'S BODY AND PROMOTE PHILANTHROPIC EFFORTS IN HIS MEMORY

[Austin, Texas] - The John McAfee Foundation, a new non-profit organization dedicated to the memory and legacy of the late cybersecurity pioneer and activist, has officially launched with the goal of retrieving McAfee's body from a prison in Spain, Centre Penitenciari Brians. John McAfee, who was found dead in his prison cell in June of 2021, was a vocal advocate and thought leader for individual freedom, privacy, and technology as a means to empower people. The John McAfee Foundation aims to continue his legacy by promoting causes that he was passionate about and making a positive impact on the world.

At this critical time, the foundation's sole disclosed goal is to retrieve McAfee's body and bring him home to the United States. Once this goal is achieved, the foundation will engage in philanthropic campaigns in McAfee's memory as well as his methodology: Initiatives on promoting cybersecurity literacy, technological innovation, privacy, individual freedom, institutional transparency, and raising awareness about the erosion of human rights in the digital age.

“Despite the peculiar circumstances surrounding Mr. McAfee’s demise, along with the equally suspicious delays involved in the retrieval of his remains, we at the JMF are quite excited to be finally stepping forward from the shadows, and letting the world know of our existence,” said Executive Director Phillip Mrzyglocki. “Those overlooked and misunderstood causes John was a champion for, will continue to have a voice. That which John fought for in the past, will continue to be fought for in the future. And the fulfillment of the necessary role of leadership will be conducted in a way aligned with Mr. McAfee’s core values. It is my belief that the true followers, friends, and allies of John McAfee will come to recognize and acknowledge the John McAfee Foundation’s commitment to being the driver for furthering his impact on humanity, as a whole.”

"John David McAfee was a world-renowned computer scientist, activist, business leader, and cryptocurrency evangelist,” said Foundation Chair Janice McAfee of her late husband. “[He was] a lifelong advocate of personal freedom, a vocal critic of the growing, unchecked corruption running rampant within the American government. John often said, ‘Our only enemy is the corruption within our government. Our only adversary is the corruption within our government.’ The goal of this Foundation is to continue John's fight for financial and personal freedom, which the lack of is currently enslaving the American people." The Foundation will launch a fundraising campaign to support its initial goal of retrieving Mr. McAfee's body, to raise awareness about its existence, and to help the promotion of its mission and values. The Foundation will also host events and launch campaigns that engage with individuals and organizations in the technology, privacy, and individual freedom spaces, however the details of those initiatives are not planned to be disclosed until a later phase of their organizational roadmap. All donors who contribute to this first stage of fundraising will be given a special designation to recognize them for their early support, and will be invited to participate, engage, interact, and communicate with the Foundation via certain privileges being reserved for them.
